DIY Mardi Gras Flapper Headband

Feb 8th 2017

With Mardi Gras coming up at the end of this month, we thought this classy ostrich feather headband, reminiscent of the 1920s, would be a quick and fun project to help you celebrate in style!

Supplies you’ll need:

-Black headband

-Gold flower accent piece

-Needle and thread

-Hot glue

-6-8” Sunshine Yellow Ostrich Drabs

-6-8” Purple Ostrich Drabs

-6-8” Lime Green Ostrich Drabs

Step 1:

String a long length of thread through your needle. Take one of the feathers and begin sewing it onto the headband. Poke the needle through the feather width wise so it can be sewn directly on. Repeat with the next two feathers, but sew them at a slight angle around the first feather so they are arranged in a sort of fanned out pattern.

Step 2:

Sew the gold flower accent piece on top of where you sewed the feathers on. Make sure it is extra secure; adding hot glue if you like just to keep everything in place. Let the glue dry and you are done!
