Feather Collar Tutorial - Maleficent Inspired

Sep 9th 2016

Supplies:

Feather Trim in two lengths (We used the Black Bleach Coque Tails and Black Goose Nagoire.)

Feathers used:

Black Bleach Coque Tails

Black Goose Nagoire

Lace Trim

Satin Ribbon

Hot Glue

Hot Glue Gun

Step 1:

Cut the lace trim to measure the circumference of your neck. To keep the ends from fraying, cut a piece of your ribbon the same width as your lace. Fold your ribbon in half lengthwise and fit sandwich the lace in between the ribbon. Hot glue the lace to the ribbon. Repeat this step on both sides to secure the ends. This is the base of your collar.

Step 2:

Cut a piece of ribbon 30 inches. Glue this ribbon to your collar base so that there is equal ribbon on either side. (*Tip: A light coat of clear nail polish can keep the ends of the ribbon from fraying.)

Step 3:

Cut two 5 inch strips of each the long and short feather trim. Glue the short feathers to both sides of the collar base on the ribbon side. Glue the long feathers on top of the shorter feathers.

This collar can be worn up near your face, or flipped around and can cover your shoulders.
