This listing is for 6 pieces of black turkey round quills wing feathers and are approximately 10-12 inches in length and 1-1/2 to 2 inches wide. There will be a 3 left curving and 3 pieces of right curving secondary turkey wing feathers in this pack.
Not all feathers are perfect as they are packed by weight and they will require some airing or steaming to make sure the feathers to spread out 100%. Garment steamer works well with feathers that has been packed or squished. Some trimming on the tip of the feathers might also be needed depending on your preference. All feathers vary in shapes and sizes.
The width of these feathers make them an artist favorite for painting or drawing on. The stiffness of the quill makes it a perfect feather for quill pens. They are fabulous!
I ordered, and like every order I have received from Moonlight, I found each feather to be excellent. The magic is in smoothing softly, each feather and zipping each separated spot untill it zips back into place. I then trim the tip nice and evenly...although some are almost ready for use. Feathers are heartier than you think...birds think so! Wet feathers can be dried and refluffed because birds do get wet and dry off in nature. I also noticed that the shipping is very fast!
