Feather Baby Mobile

Decorating a nursery is one of the most enjoyable parts of expecting a new baby. There are so many cute themes and colors to choose from. This Feather Baby Mobile is a great DIY craft for your own nursery or a great gift to your loved ones at baby showers.

Supplies:

Brass Metal Ring (We’re using a 12” diameter ring.) White Lace Ribbon
Gold Ribbon
Colored Ribbon to match the Nursery

White Yarn
Gold Beads
White Feathers and Colored Feathers (We’re recommend Goose Satinettes ) Scissors
Glue Gun
Hot Glue Sticks

Instructions:

Start by measuring your various ribbon and yarn. Cut them into 24 inch long pieces. Once the ribbon and yarn are cut, begin to tie them to the metal ring from the center of each piece. Start with the lace, then the gold, then the colored, and the yarn. Repeat this step until the entire ring is covered.

In order to hang the mobile, take one piece of each set of hanging yarn and tie them together at their tip.

Next, we’re gonna work on adding feathers. First, slip a gold bead onto a remaining piece of yarn hanging from the ring. Then, from the quill, tie a feather toward the top of the yarn. To secure the feather and hide the know, apply a dot of hot glue to the knot and slip the bead over the quill and knot. Repeat this step toward the middle of the yarn so that you have a white and colored feather on each hanging piece of yarn.

Now you are ready to hang the mobile above the crib so that your little one can watch it as they drift into a sweet sleep.
