Feathers for Your Christmas Wedding

Christmas Wedding Decorations & Ideas

December weddings are surprisingly popular. With so many holiday events taking place in the months prior to and after December it is shocking to some that couples want to add on a whole new level of stress by planning a December wedding. This time of year does, however, seem special and magical.

It would be easy to go with the usual pine tree and tinsel décor that comes along with Christmas when considering decorations for a December wedding. Give your guests something to remember by making your décor truly outstanding.

Log Vases- Hollowed out birch tree logs can create stunning vases for your wedding table tops. If you dont have access to a birch tree or cant figure out how to create this look, purchase birch printed wall paper/contact paper. Adhere the bark or contact paper to the outside of cylindrical vases for a similar look.

Feather Flower Arrangements- Flowers and bouquets are a wedding must have. A creative way to warm up your flowers is to add feathers. By adding feathers you provide more texture and interest to your arrangement. For the most popular trend add pheasant feathers, peacock feathers or ostrich feathers to your bouquet.

White Poinsettias-When we think of Christmas one of the most prevalent flowers is the poinsettia. Dont go for the all too popular red for your wedding. Opt for a more subtle bunch with white leafy petals to add a dreamy, yet, festive touch.

Glittered Pinecones- An easy craft to complete before your wedding is to coat pinecones in glitter and place in containers as centerpieces or attach table numbers or place markings to them. Keep the glitter silver or white to give off a snow-like appearance.

Christmas Lights- Here is one item that can easily decorate your home, tree or, yes, December wedding. Use only white lights to create a classy atmosphere. String lights overhead to produce a romantic vibe above a dance floor or bridal table.

Antler Accents- Antlers can be fashioned into many different decorations. They can be painted, assembled into chandeliers or used as props in wedding band photos. If you love the look but are not a fan of using real antlers, you may find artificial substitutes online.

Fur Throws- Cold weather gives many opportunities for snuggling up. Create a modern seating and conversation area, perhaps around an outdoor bonfire, with throw blankets strewn over hay bales.

Hot Cocoa Bar- Many adults love their coffeebut that can be so boring. Offer a hot chocolate bar for your guests to enjoy. Various flavors of cocoa, marshmallows, whipped cream, peppermint sticks, and caramel syrup will keep your friends and family coming back for multiple tastings. If you must offer coffee, provide it as a considerate alternative.
