The Minty Bride

A wedding has been an event that has spanned throughout time in the joining celebration of two hearts.  Although weddings may vary from couple to couple and range from high budget affairs to quaint backyard get-together one thing hasn't changed much…the bride reciting her vows in a white dress.  In some cases the dress is an expensive and intricate gown with lace, silk or crystals.  In other events, the bride wears a simple white sun dress; either way, the wedding dress, regardless of its form, has archetypally been fashioned in a shade of white.

White may be a thing of the past as far as some modern brides are concerned.  You may have noticed that celebrities are paving the way for colored wedding gowns to be acceptable.  Pale pink and even blue gowns are becoming popular color choices for dresses.  If you are planning your wedding and want to be modern, yet aren't sure you want to stray too far from the wedding “norm,” you can try one of our favorite color - Tiffany Blue!

You can find all these cute stuffs here. You don't have to choose this color if you want it to be more traditional. You can add colors in these ways to make it fun and memorable!

Shoes - Although most people won’t get even a peek at a bride’s shoes, that doesn't mean that comfortable sneakers are an acceptable choice. Add color to your wedding wear by purchasing a pair of pumps that are reflective of your personality. Whether they are sparkly, snakeskin, or leopard print heels you will feel more comfortable and less stiff than wearing white from head to toe.

Veil/Head Piece- A veil can be a simple piece of netting attached to a small cap or head band to something as dramatic as a multi-foot length draping.  Modernize your veil or headpiece by adding colored feathers.  Dyed craft Feathersostrich feathers or naturally colorful peacock feathers will add a splash of romanticism and color to your wedding day ensemble.

Ribbon or Dress Accent- Without thoroughly committing to a completely colored dress, a simple blush or lavender ribbon around the waistline or a colorful emerald or jade broach will break up the white while adding a place of interest to your gown.
